Have you ever wondered what the namesakes behind a world-renowned bridal brand would choose for their own wedding-day jewels?
As the daughter of Kirk Kara, a designer whose creations personify romance, Angela Karaguezian Kassabian stayed true to her roots with a bridal jewelry ensemble that honored the timeless and elegant art of handcrafted design. From the bride’s own mesmerizing Pirouetta engagement ring and accessories to the gifts she bestowed upon her family and groom, each lovingly created piece embodied the Forever Captivating™ beauty of a custom Kirk Kara design.
Angela’s spellbinding engagement ring, now the iconic centerpiece of Kirk Kara’s Pirouetta Collection, was masterfully designed by her sister and Matron of Honor, Grace. The Pirouetta Collection is inspired by the joyful and romantic dance of love. Each ring sways around your finger in constant sparkling motion with twists, swirls and leaps of diamonds, plus delightful bow and ribbon-inspired details. Angela’s gorgeous halo engagement ring from the Pirouetta Collection ring features signature handcrafted filigree and peek-a-boo diamonds on either side of the stunning oval center stone. To symbolize the ultimate gift of finding your one true love, the ring’s delicately detailed band features a diamond-studded bow, reminiscent of a beautifully wrapped present. From sketch to perfection, this breathtaking ring took more than 25 hours to create and was the first Kirk Kara ring ever presented in our now-signature pink box. And because of its thoughtful design, this ring and its accompanying straight band are remarkably comfortable for everyday wear. “My ring encompasses everything for me: my heritage, my commitment to my family’s company, Kirk Kara, and a future with my new husband,” says Angela of her now award-winning Pirouetta design.
Angela custom-designed her own bridal jewelry set to echo the beautiful bow designs on her engagement ring. The diamond necklace and earrings, in 18-karat white gold, became the first designs in her imaginative fashion jewelry collection for Kirk Kara. The sweetheart neckline of Angela’s exquisite blush-tinged Monique Lhuillier gown and her loose updo of tumbling curls created the perfect backdrop for displaying the breathtaking set.
For her mother Lucy and sister Grace, Angela designed a bow pendant necklace in the same style as her bridal set to express her love and gratitude for the essential roles they played not only in planning her dream wedding, but throughout her entire life. For her husband, Raffi, and her father, Kirk, Angela had custom cufflinks created which featured round brilliant diamonds and the signature “K” to represent both the Kirk Kara seal and her new husband’s last name.
From the pink-hued color story to the thoughtfully designed, one-of-a-kind jewels, every detail was inspired by Angela’s family legacy and unique perspective of timeless design.
